NJDOT – Smart and Connected Corridor Design Project

As a part of the HNTB team, AEA will be responsible for the connected vehicle design in the northern Route 1 portion of the project. Connected vehicle design included installing roadside units (RSU) at fourteen (14) intersections and thirteen (13) mid-block detectors. These roadside units will provide SPaT messages to vehicles equipped with onboard units (OBUs) via new traffic signal controllers.
