PROJECT DESCRIPTION

AEA has provided engineering services for electrical and lighting design on Port Newark Corbin Street Flyover project as sub consultant to Parsons Brinckerhoff. The project design included developing design criteria, performed lighting warrant analysis, performing illumination, lighting design report, preliminary and final design, coordination with utility company for electric service for proposed flyover bridge structure spanning over the Corbin Street and the PNCT tracks from the PNCT Terminal on the dock facility to the PNCT Intermodal Yard. Developed construction plans, details, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, load center details, panel schedules, equipment schedules, fixture schedule, and junction box/cable and conduit schedules. Performed quantity computations and developed cost estimate as per Port Authority standards. AEA coordinated with other disciplines as required, including for installation of lighting standards on the bridge structure. Loads were calculated and noted within panel schedule.  Voltage drop calculations were performed to adequately size cables.  Pull boxes were sized to accommodate future installations.  Overcurrent protection devices were sized to avoid over heating of cables.  Conduit fill calculations supported installation of cables within the conduit.  Design plans included detailed conduit routing to individual light fixtures, circuiting, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules.  RHW-2 cables were used to feed the bridge lighting fixtures. Supported PB Team in developing construction cost estimate, specifications, and contract construction co plans. Developed no cost items list and quantities. Provided post design services. Responded to contractor RFI’s and reviewed the shop/working drawings and material submittals.
