Movable Bridge-Construction Inspection

This project involved working mainly on vertical lift and bascule movable bridges. These bridges are controlled by Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and magnetic relay control systems. Electric motors are controlled by Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).

Tasks:

• Reviewing as-built conditions of electrical power and controls facilities for proper and safe operations and preparing corrective recommendations for the client.
• Preparing troubleshooting strategies for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and magnetic relay control systems, and sensors for repairs by Contractor.
• Pre-construction review of plans and specifications.
• Preparing procedures for construction and repair work to minimize bridge down time.
• Working with Contractors to ensure construction is per plans, specifications, and NJDOT standards.
• Preparing and updating as-built drawings.
• Preparing and submitting construction reports to NJDOT.
