Advantage Engineering Associates, P.C. (AEA) is currently providing construction inspection services for the installation of a new Computerized Traffic Signal System (CTSS) to be installed along US Route 40/322 between mileposts 47.48 and 59.96. The services provide for inspection of a complete interconnected traffic control system, underground conduit raceway, including Rigid Metallic Conduit (RMC) and HDPE, fiber optic cabling interconnect, system communications network required for establishing and maintaining traffic signal electronic connectivity between field devices and central system control for a new Adaptive Control Traffic System. Along with traffic signal controller installation, this project includes the installation of fiber optic communications equipment and luminaire replacement and install on any highway lighting being damaged or malfunctioning during the duration of the construction contract. AEA inspection personnel are responsible for assuring the contractor has placed all Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) devices per plan and NJDOT standards. Inspection personnel also prepares all daily reports, takes photos, verifies work per the approved working drawings, arranges field investigations with NJDOT, coordinates conflict resolution of utilities, and ensures all work and procedures comply with the construction Contract plans, specifications, change of plans, permits, Codes, and related documents. All RFIs are resolved with the RE and NJDOT. Daily construction work is documented for as-built records.
