NJ ITS Architecture Update

AEA is updating New Jersey’s ITS Architecture, developing a maintenance process to keep it up to date and serving as the Subject Matter Expert in support of CH2MHILL to establish a strategic vision document consistent with the concept of Regional Transportation Systems Management and Operations (RTSMO). This report and newly established process will communicate to decision makers and officials statewide, how to prepare for and maintain their ITS Program continuity. The project goals include linking planning with operations by developing and delivering the following: Establishing a vision for improving safety and mobility through innovation and the use of ITS technologies, Identifying new traffic management and project funding strategies, updating NJ’s ITS Architecture and Integrating NJ’s ITS Programs into a unified set of short, medium, and long range planning objectives.
